The concept of 'A Rural Experience' is to ensure that both visitors and locals alike, have an opportunity to see some of the lesser known but still significantly important sites in and around Co. Kilkenny, Co. Waterford, Co. Wexford and their neighbouring counties.  Make this trip the 'Vacation of a Lifetime'. 

Kilkenny City itself, has an abundance of history and culture. This is all marketed very enthusiastically and is not to be missed. However, if you also crave the beauty and originality of more rural sites, along with lots of fresh air and a little gentle exercise, why not sit back and relax in the care of one of our experienced tour guides!  The proprietor, Amy Mc Donald, designs & organises day tours throughout the south-east of Ireland and beyond on request. 

Our aim is to introduce visitors to our warm hospitality, beautiful surroundings & friendly locals.  So if you want to sample our famous Guinness & Irish Stew while enjoying a trad session or take in a round of golf of one of our championship courses, or simply relax and take in the atmoshere, allow us to design your vacation!

A Rural Experience also offer a private car and driver service on request. This service is available for day tours and longer breaks in Ireland.  Our drivers are all Irish born & bred and with a vast knowledge and friendly outlook they will be more than happy to whisk you away to the well known areas and those off the beaten track.  We will be delighted to assist you in designing the perfect itinerary to suit your needs and make your holiday that little bit special.  View Ireland in style in one of our chauffeured cars!

My name is Amy Mc Donald and I have designed all the tours that you will view on my website.  I was employed as a tour guide at Jerpoint Abbey, Kilkenny & Reginald's Tower, Waterford, before deciding to go it alone! I have a passion for history,  love meeting people from different countries & cultures, and therefore believe in helping our guests build wonderful memories whilst on holiday.  We are a family business who pride ourselves on making your visit to Ireland that little bit more special.  We organise various tours and design itineraries based on our visitors' needs and every tour is tailor made to suit your interests.  Since commencing business in early 2007,  I have met some wonderful people and delighted in introducing them to true Irish hospitality & friendliness at its best!  I look forward to meeting you in Ireland!
